What is a Water Injected Oil Free Air Compressor?
A water injected oil free air compressor is a type of air compressor that uses water instead of oil to lubricate its internal components. This design eliminates the need for oil in the compression process.
Because there is no oil in the compressor’s operating system, it is ideal for applications that require clean, dry air, such as in the food, pharmaceutical, or electronics industries. The absence of oil also means lower maintenance needs compared to oil-lubricated compressors, as there are no oil changes or filters to manage. Additionally, water lubrication helps reduce environmental impact by eliminating oil disposal issues and minimizing the risk of spills. Water’s excellent thermal conductivity improves the compressor’s cooling efficiency, which can enhance overall performance. Although water-lubricated systems may have higher initial costs, they often result in lower operational costs due to reduced maintenance and the elimination of oil-related expenses.

Robust Component
The single screw airend of Gairs oil free air compressors features a stainless steel screw rotor and housing, complemented by advanced leak-free seal designs, ensuring lifelong reliability.

Efficiency Maximization
Along with our in-house manufactured airend and package design that ensures exceptional mechanical efficiency, all of our OGW and JLW series are variable speed oil free compressors equipped with permanent magnet motors that offer outstanding efficiency throughout the full speed range.
Easy Maintenance
With fewer consumable parts and simplified design, maintenance requirements of a Gairs oil free compressor are minimized, reducing downtime and operational costs. For routine maintenance (excluding airend maintenance), you only need to replace the water filter elements, air filter elements, and water softener elements.

How Do Single Screw Air Compressors Work?

Water-injected single screw oil free air compressors operate by using a rotating helical screw to compress air. Here’s a bit more detail:
1. Compression: The screw rotates, driving the two symmetrically placed star wheels mounted on both sides, and traps and compresses air as the volume decreases.
2. Water Injection: Along with air, water is injected into the compression chamber to:
– Cool: Absorb heat generated during compression.
– Lubricate: Reduce friction between the screw and casing.
– Seal: Improve efficiency by sealing gaps.
3. Separation & Discharge: The water-air mixture is separated in a separator tank. The compressed air is expelled, and the water is still circulating inside the compressor system.
Why Gairs Oil-free Air Compressors?

One major advantage of choosing Gairs’ oil free compressors is their TÜV CLASS 0 certification. This certification represents the highest standard for air purity, ensuring that the compressed air from Gairs’ compressors is completely free of oil. The CLASS 0 air compressors are known for their exceptional performance, offering outstanding efficiency, reliability, and quality. Gairs is dedicated to providing safe and pure oil free compressed air.

Our quiet, oil free compressors consistently deliver air that meets ISO 8573-1 CLASS 0 oil standards. Additionally, the use of stainless steel 304 pipes and airends ensures a steady flow of clean, oil-free air.

Yes, our OGW and JLW series are all equipped with single screw airend. We fouce only on single screw technology, that why we excel.
The lubrication water MUST be RO (reverse osmosis) water to ensure that there are no calcium and magnesium ions in the water to prevent scaling inside the compressor.
The OGW series targets the mid-to-high-end market, offering premium features and performance, while the JLW series provides excellent value for the mid-range market at a more accessible and budget-friendly price.

The following are frequently asked by our customers about oil-free water lubricated air compressors.
When compressor encounters a problem, please contact our sales representitives for remote video guide first. Do not change the operation parameter at will.
Yes, the airend is crucial to any air compressor and is particularly challenging to manufacture. Since our founding in 1988, we have been dedicated to researching and producing airends, accumulating substantial expertise in their design and development over the years.
In addition to replacement of the filter elements, there is the maintenance of the airend.
There are two levels of maintenance: the first level requires only the replacement of internal fittings within the airend, while the second level includes all first-level maintenance tasks plus the replacement of the screw rotor.
Typically, the lead time for a single-stage model is approximately 25-30 working days, while the lead time for a two-stage model is around 40-45 working days.
